In 2007, Tabu starred in her first Hollywood film The Namesake, directed by Mira Nair
The movie was a grand hit she got much appreciated for her work and after that got many offers from Bollywood and Hollywood too. it was like the turning point in her career as she got huge fame between this time.

In 2010 Mallika signed Hollywood movie Hiss with Irrfan Khan which was under the direction of Jennifer lynch.
She plays the role of snake women in it.
The story revolved around the lonely Nagin I.e. Mallika comes to the city to find the nag which was kidnapped by an American hunter who is desperate for the nagmani that will cure his cancer.
